AIDS statistics (as of December 2007)

Globally:

• 30 million have died, and each day, another 8,000 will die.
• 6000 children are orphaned daily.
• 14,000 will become infected, joining the 42 million already infected.

Locally:

• In Yellowstone County, 135 cases have been reported and are in treatment.
• In Montana: 469

The disease continues to rise in newly diagnosed cases; the Yellowstone county Health Department reports 5 or 6 new cases in the last six months of 2007. We are trying to curb these numbers, educate everyone, and help those affected through our Local and International Outreach programs.
